  1. Sports can teach us a lot about life for example: to never give up, teamwork communication, and loosing is part of life. Sports teaches you to never give up because sometimes when playing a sport you don't do good, and you dont get it right the first, second, or third, and you just got to keep on practicing inorder to get better. That is something that can happen in real life for example Michael Jordan, when he was a sophmore in high school he got cut off the varsity team, but that didn't stop him from his dream because now he is a famous NBA player and has his own clothes and shoe line. Another skill is teamwork and communication because when being on a team you learn how to communicate with people, even when they're not your favorite person. The most important skill you learn in my opinion is that loosing is a part of life. This applies in real life because sometimes you go through a difficult time, and you don't always win the situation. Sports can always teach a lot more things but these are just some. - LESLIE ZAMORA.

Sports can teach a person a lot about life such as determination and setting goals for yourself working with others and teamwork. Sports show you if you try hard to do something that you’re not good at and you practice and set small goals for yourself you will eventually get better and from all of those small goals you will accomplish something you couldn’t do at one time but now you could. Also determination has a lot to do with people succeeding in sports because in sports you have to be determined to actually be the best you can at it. If you are determined that means you are focused on that one goal and nothing else matters and nothing will stop you from accomplishing it and that’s exactly what you need if you want to be successful in life. Another thing that sports can teach you is and teamwork in the video clip we watched from any given Sunday the other day the coach said” look to the person next to you, your goanna see a guy willing to that inch with you” and sacrificing for your team because at the end of the day he knows you will for him that shows team work because everyone is doing it together and if they failed they failed as a team. Me and my triad group definitely show team work if we see theirs something one another is having trouble with we observe it and give them feedback on it and show them how to do it better , we don’t work individually we help each other out. If you don’t use teamwork in life you will never be able to work well with others. This is sums up what sports can teach you about life.

  3. Sports can teach us that effort and practice are of the key ingredients to being successful in anything. Trying your best really does make a difference in a football game or, a final exam. Sports can also remind us that working in a team really betters you as a person. Communicating and putting differences aside, shows that you are mature and willing to do what's best for the team. Working with others also requires leadership. At some point each of you will need to step up and guide your team to success. Sports teach us that winning isn't everything. Yes, its great to win but it's the preparation that got you there that's more important. No one wins at everything, and loosing doesn't nessceslary make you a loser. Learning from your mistakes, getting the proper feedback and improving, insures that next time you'll be a winner on and off the field. -ARIELLE SEEPERSAUD

  4. Sports & life can be connected as one . It shows you the values, and lessons that can be used in everyday life. Sports can also better us as a person. It teaches us determination, hardworking, teamwork, leadership, reponsibility, and mental toughness. Having too communicate with your other teamates shows how sometimes you cant achieve things yourself. You have too work together to success in certain parts. Not all the time can you win, so sometimes you have to settle with losing, and just working harder next time. You learn from your mistakes, and take the feedback and improve yourself. - Raphaelle Jean-Baptiste .

  5. Sports and life go hand and hand. Sports can sometimes effect someones life. It helps a person build their strength and state of mind. It gets a person to understand the true meaning of teamwork, weather they win or lose. success doesn't come to you, you have to go to success. Practice makes perfect and the more you practice the better you are, the better you are the closer you are to success! This quote if not only for sports but in life as well - Tyara Jackson

  6. Sports can teach you many lessons about life, such as communication and teamwork. It teaches you to be a winner and to share, but it also teaches you how to lose but not give up. Knowing how to lose is a very important aspect of life. We can learn different things from different sports. Some sports teach us how to be persistent, it challenges ones limits, and we learn how to cooperate with different team mates and how to compete with other teams. At many times sports can also teach to strategy. It is important to strategize and think things out for you make a move or make a decision. One of basketball's greatest players, Michael jordan had many difficulties as a young man in both sports and life. But what help put him back on track was setting a goal and by achieving this goal, he would have to take small steps until he completed it. In both sports and life, taking small steps can always help you conquer whatever it is you are trying to achieve. - Chrisopher Lazarre

  7. Sports and life are very closely related to each other. To be successful in both sectors one requires effort and ambition. Sports play an important role in our personal lives by developing our character. Sports develop self confidence to believe in oneself to perform at their best. It builds our determination by teaching us to never give up. It develops our communication skills and adjust our mentality to work as a team. Discipline in sports helps to get hold of ourselves. Focus is an important attribute in sports to complete a task, which is also useful in life. people improve their influential level by playing sports which make them true leaders. Sports also builds our composure which allows us to perform under pressure. It also make us realize that winning is not everything in life by teaching us to accept defeat. But ultimately it makes a person winner by winning challenges. So sports play a vital role when it comes to developing a successful personality. -Fazlay Rabbi

  8. sports can teach us many different things about life, example: communication, teamwork, dedication and many more. in life sports teaches you to never give up, there would be times you feel like somethings would never work out and you tend to have the attitude to give up but you never should every time you fall always get back up and try again.example: Micheal Jordan was cut his sophomore year in high school from the varsity basketball team and even though he was hurt Micheal now had a choice either give up or practice harder to show what he was really capable of this right here is a very good example of determination.

  9. Sports can teach people about the importance of teamwork and to not give up. When you don't get something right the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time, keep trying so that way you will become better at it and get closer to your success. It can also develop self confidence in one. It also teaches people how to accept losing and still be a winner deep down inside. You have to be focused and know that you want, meaning that you won't let anything stop you from accomplishing your goal. This is similar to real life because sometimes you're in a desperate, difficult situation and expect the best out of it but end up getting the worst. So in that case, if you want to be successful in life, never give up and have confidence in yourself.

  10. Sports can teach you many things about life. It teaches you sportsmanship, leadership, and also dedication. Many sports teach you about sportsmanship, being a good teamplayer shows others your can be trusted for anything, as well to life you learn that when your working in a job your coworkers can trust that you have been respected by others. Taking "small steps" can help you visualize how your future will be and how to reach your goal. Leadership shows you in a game that you can successfully finish the game as well as to live many will want to follow your successful steps to reach their goal. With perfect comes practice and never giving up is a way to succeed beacause many times you will fall and want to give up but with dedication and determination you can be a successful person and reach the goal of your dreams. - Nicholas Latorre

  13. Sports Can Teach us about many things in Life. Not only Does sports create awareness about being healthy or staying in shape, it teaches us about Skills, also coaches us on many different things that we may later need knowledge of in Life. Through Sports we get the understanding of Dedication, Diligence, Sportsmanship, Being a Leader & what it takes to be a leader. Also How to work together with your teammates to reach your goal, because ther is No "I" neither is there an "U" in the word Team. If the job is completed together it would set a good feeling in your heart about contribution into VICTORY. Since I've started summer school, I've been able to experince & practice different skills & also how to be a team, the science & math & english relations to sports & also how to become a better teamate by Coaching, Recording & also being Observant. I've set up Procedures & collect data also.

  14. sports can teach us lots about life...such as the skills we can use to put forword in our life. like in a game such as basketball how you have to practice to become perfect at your skills, its the same as in life sports logic plays a big part in how you balance yourself.
sports teach you to be strong and strive hard to succseed at what you do. in life you can apply the same logic and strive for urself to be successful.

  16. What can sports teach us about life? A subject which I have been pondering upon throughout the Summer 2010 ESY program. Sports can teach us a lot about life because in many ways they are very alike. In any sport, as well as life, there are many aspects and skills you must use and have in order to accomplish your goal(s). Skills which are needed in both life and sports involve cooperation, responsibility, strength, intelligence, perseverence, etc. Sports and life are similar in positive ways, however they are also similar in negative ways. A negative in sports would be penalties which would be considered felonies in life. There are many other things sports can teach us about life; some which you just have to experience for yourself.

  19. Having determination, being focused, and good teamwork are only a few skills/characteristics that are essential in life and while playing sports. I look upon determination as: a goal or task that someone has every intention of completing them, they (the individual/group) would do and try everything in there power to achieve it. Being focused is also a very important skill that goes along perfectly wit determination. It shows that you are aware about your task at hand and with your determination you block out all distraction and negative feedback and try to complete it. NO matter what anyone says you would try your best to get your goal accomplished. Teamwork is also a very big skill that is used from day to day. I believe that without it, it would be very hard to live from day to day. Many people label themselves as "independent", although realistically that is not possible. Everyone needs or has had someone in their life that has helped them out with many small tasks or at least was there for moral support or gave valuable feedback. For example in the movie "Any Given Sunday" the coach gave his team a very encouraging speech about teamwork and there loss determination and lack of effort. With this speech he was able to life their spirits again and the went out strong. This is a great example because without their coach the team would have probably lost the game and with his feedback they were able to change their attitudes towards the game. This past week has taught us student many thing that we are most likely will apply to life. i wonder what else we will learn this week!

  25. Sports teach us many things about life. They both relate in numerous ways. Sports teach us determination, resilience, team work, focus, practice and so much more. We practice these skills in everyday life if not, were trained to. We have to be determined in order to reach our goals in life. We have to be resilient in order to not let our emotions control us and move past it. We need team work because we can't always be independent we have to have help so we get things done faster and easier. You can never, ever have too much practice. Practice doesn't make perfect but it makes you an expert. Don't ever give up on something because it is "too hard" whatever you want you can achieve. Everyday in ESY so far we've practiced these skills one by one in class and gym. Sports is just another way of preparing you to be successful in life.

Sports can teach us many things in life such as teamwork, determination, effort, motivation, and communication. These are some of the well known skills for a team's success. I believe in order to achieve a goal you have to motivate yourself and visualize the positive outcomes. Learning to lose is another way sports can relate to life. In life you can't always expect to be successful, and in sports you can't always expect to win. If you lose in a game, it doesn't mean you're not good at what you're doing. It may mean that someone is better than you, and it can give you more confidence to work harder and be determined to win next time. Taking small steps. learning from mistakes, visualizing positive outcomes, and never giving up are some keys to success.

  30. Sports can teach us many thing about life. It teaches us to be teamplayers and to rely on other to achieve goals or others relying on us to help them achieve a goal. It teaches us to visualize future events that help better yourself. Sports can teaches us that feedback can be used to help yourself or someone else become better at a skill, and shows how you can specficly get better at the skill- Derrick Danglade
